Meet Dr. Dana Newsome Corbett

At a young age, Dr. Dana Newsome Corbett discovered a passion for helping others. In the fourth grade, she extracted a tooth for a classmate who was having a problem, and this sparked a lifelong journey into health care and dentistry. Guided by her father, Dr. Oakie Newsome, throughout high school and college, she was able to gain valuable insight into dentistry as a profession.

Since she began practicing in 1997, Dr. Corbett has demonstrated her commitment to excellence, helping her patients achieve the smiles they truly deserve. Dr. Corbett has a deep-rooted passion to serve the community she grew up in, and her patients have become family. With a compassionate and dedicated team by her side, she makes every individual feel valued and cared for.

Dr. Corbett actively pursues further education and learning opportunities. Spear Education has played a crucial role in equipping her to provide customized, state-of-the-art care to her valued patients. She has been recognized as a multi-time honoree in the Lexington Herald Leader’s Best of the Bluegrass dentist category. Dr. Corbett was also elected into the Henry Clay High School Hall of Fame.

Outside of the dental office, Dr. Corbett finds joy in running, playing tennis and pickleball, and crafting. She also cherishes moments with her husband, Mike, and their three children, Cassie, Maggie, and Jackson.

Meet the Team

Pat

Office Manager
Pat will be one of the first people you meet when you walk in the door at Corbett Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. She will assist you with all of your scheduling and insurance-processing needs. Pat has worked in dentistry since 2000 and has considerable experience. Outside of work, Pat loves to read and spend time with her grandkids. She has been married for over 40 years and has a growing family, with four children and six grandchildren.

Amanda

Dental Assistant
Amanda works as a dental assistant for our practice. She loves working with people and making our patients feel like family. Amanda has lived in Lexington since college, and it’s where she chose to raise her beautiful family. Her daughter is currently following her parents’ legacy and attending the University of Kentucky, and her son will be attending Transylvania University to play lacrosse. Amanda loves to spend time with her family in the beautiful Bluegrass, and her favorite home away from home is Siesta Key.

Ilene

Registered Dental Hygienist
Ilene joined the practice in 2021, and she has been a dental hygienist here in Lexington for 28 years. She also has experience as a dental hygiene program clinical instructor at UK/Lexington Community College, where she worked from 1998-2002. Ilene has been married to her husband, Scott, for 35 years, and they have three adult kids. Outside of the dental office, she is active in the exercise community and is a certified pilates and spinning instructor. She is also an avid yoga practitioner.

Inna

Registered Dental Hygienist
Inna’s family immigrated to Kentucky from Ukraine in 1991. She is a registered dental hygienist and started working at Corbett Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in 2007. Inna genuinely loves her job and her coworkers. She enjoys contributing to people’s health and longevity through good oral health care. When not working, Inna enjoys spending time with her husband and their cats, Sheba and Buddy. She also loves doing CrossFit workouts, reading books, and learning new things. She’s also obsessed with houseplants and has 25 in her house—it’s beginning to look like a jungle!

Krystle

Expanded Duties Dental Assistant
Krystle joined the practice in 2022, but she has been working as an expanded duties dental assistant for nearly 17 years. She is passionate about cosmetic dental treatments, Invisalign, and dental implants. Krystle enjoys providing patients with calm, pain-free experiences. In her spare time, Krystle likes being with her friends and family, which includes her husband and 16-year-old daughter. She loves being outdoors and visiting the ocean. Krystle also enjoys woodworking and crafting.

Miranda

Dental Hygienist
Miranda is originally from Barbourville, Kentucky, and she has been active in the dental field since 2011. She began as a dental assistant, quickly developing a passion for dental care. This inspired her to complete additional education and training to become a dental hygienist in 2016. Miranda loves building trust, confidence, and relationships with our patients so they feel at ease. When not working, Miranda enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves spoiling her two kitties, working out, and volunteering with her church family.
